Winter promotes creativity

-20 outdoors, +30 indoors. You have 2 choices:

1. Think of a menu for the day. Go shopping for the groceries:
Dress up in full winter gear (yeah, long johns and all the works!). Start sweating.
Take the pushchair down from third floor.
Hear Onni cry and run back to the apartment. Sweat more.
Change the nappy. Dress the baby in layers of woollies and a snowsuit.
Crying Onni on one arm lock the apartment making sure that you also have a woolly hat and mittens, because there's no way back.
Then negotiate the pram through two doors and a couple of steps on to the street.
Push the pram in 20 cm of snow to the store. Feel the northerly wind on your sweaty back.
Returning home make the same maneuver reversed.
When you have finally got yourself and the baby out of the winter gear, notice that the one of the ingredients that you just bought is already moldy. Swear.

2. Or you can also do as follows:
Spend the day in pajamas or in bikini or something else suitable for the heatwave indoors.
In the afternoon, check what you can find in the half empty kitchen cupboards.
Create an exotic dish of the available ingredients.
Lucky me that Señor Lopez considers something like fried potatoes with chick peas exotic!!
And it was good, too!

Well, this really makes me miss my mum's self-sufficient kitchen where the home-grown vegetables and home-baked bread could be found all year round.
