Olen saanut luvan imettää. Onni on onnellisempi kuin aikoihin paluusta vanhaan päiväjärjestykseen. Voimme vihdoin ruveta suunnittelemaan Etelään lähtöä. Etelä tarkoittaa Bacalarin laguunia lähellä Chetumalia ja Belizen rajaa. Sinne on täältä Citystä kahden päivän automatka. Tai kahden tunnin lentomatka, jos niin haluaa.

Viimeksi kaksi vuotta sitten taitoimme tuon matkan autolla, ja minä olisin mielenkiinnolla tehnyt sen jälleen. Välille kun mahtuu tulivuoria ja merenrantaa ja autiomaata ja keidasmaisia palmumetsiä.... Señor Lopez vaan on sitä mieltä että Onni on liian pieni matkustamaan noin pitkään autossa, vaikka meillä olisi mahdollisuus tehdä lyhyempiä päivämatkoja ja katsella enemmän ympäristöä. Mutta kun ei.

I finally have the permission to breastfeed again. Which means that we can at last start to plan the rest of our stay in this country - in other words, the trip to the South. South means Bacalar Laguna near Chetumal and Belize border. The journey from the City takes two days in a car, or two hours by plane if you like.

Two years ago we did the road trip, and I´d like to repeat the experience again this time. But Señor Lopez disagrees. Says that Bebecito is too small for such a long drive, even though we could take our time and stop as many times as we´d like. There´s plenty to see in between: volcanoes, desert, sea shore, ancient palm forests....

But a NO is a no, and I had to go purchase a plane ticket for myself and Bebecito, and let señor to drive all the way alone. Unnecessary pollution and waste of money I tell you but I´m unable to fight the secret macho that has been released in señor Lopez. He´ll start the voyage on Tuesday, Bebecito and myself follow on Thursday.
